  • Halloween

I got Kaia a onesie for Halloween that had a glow in the dark mummy on the front and the text below it says, "I love my Mummy."  I couldn't resist.  Then my aunt Sandy sent Halloweeen socks, bib and hat.  I dressed her in it on Halloween and we all went out for dinner.  We took a couple of photos, but I forgot to put her hat on.  Anyway, here's the cutest baby ever (in my opinion!)

  • Changing so much

Since the last time I had time to sit down and post something, Kaia has discovered many new things.  She is really finding her hands and her voice.  She is growing taller and stronger.  I've got a video that captures some of the action.  It's taken with my digital camera, so you'll have to excuse the shakiness.

Kaia and I took our first road trip without Jon.  We went to Columbus, IN for my cousins baby shower.  On my mother's side of the family, there will be three newborns in one year.  We took a picture of the Thomas women.  Seen here from left to right, me, my mom Cheril, my daughter Kaia, my grandmother Helen, my neice Ella, my sister Amber and in the back row, my Aunt Sany and my cousin Tammy who is expecting a baby boy in late Novemember or early December.

It was a really nice trip, I met up with Amber, Mom and Grandma on the drive up and Grandma rode with me the rest of the trip.  Then I went to Evansville to hang out in the packed Griswold house for a few days.  Grandma rode back with me to Evansville and we enjoyed listening to some 40s music, talking and looking at the beautiful fall colors.  The stay at the Griswold house was wonderful for me.  Amber, Jared and Ella were between houses (sold one but couldn't move into the new one yet) so they were living with Mom & Dad.  With Kaia and me there, it was a full house indeed.  But it was such a nice visit.  Unfortunately, my mom got sick on Sunday night and quarantined herself on Monday.  She got to come out to visit on Tuesday wearing a medical mask.  I left Wednesday.  So, poor Nana's time was cut short with Kaia.

It was good to get back home and see Jon again too.  Here he is with Kaia at 11 weeks old:

  • Kaia cooing

Kaia's starting to make more noises.  I tried catching some video. This doesn't really do it justice...

  • Wonderful Weekend

Jon and I took Kaia on another road trip this weekend.  We headed to Natchez, Mississippi to attend Stu and Georgia's wedding.  We had a really wonderful time seeing our friends and the wedding was beautiful.  The wedding was held at Ormonde Plantation which is owned by Stu's parents and is undergoing restoration.  Stu and Georgia looked so very happy and make a very handsome couple.  Jon was in the wedding.  We were all dressed up.  Kaia wore the beautiful dress that Stu and Georgia sent to us when she was born.  Since we were all dressed up, I had Jenn take our picture.

  • Getting Big

Kaia is nearly 7 weeks old (tomorrow).  She is growing and changing so fast, it amazes me.  We took her for her 1 month old appointment last week and she weighed 10 lbs. 1oz.  and had grown 2.5 inches.  I took some pictures of her at 6 weeks old and a few others.  I also shot a couple of short videos with the digital camera.  The film work isn't stellar, kind of shaky, but at least you can see her in action.

Here she is at 6 weeks old:
